BEFORE YOU BUY

Will your device work with eSIM?

Find your model, then check the actual device. Region, carrier, and hardware variants can change eSIM availability.

A match is a hardware reference, not a live compatibility result or confirmation that a particular plan works. An unlisted device may still work. This reference was reviewed on October 12, 2026; new models may not be included.

Check your actual device

This guided check uses your answers. A website cannot inspect your phone’s eSIM hardware or carrier lock.

  1. On the device that will use the eSIM, dial *#06# and look for an EID. You can also check device settings for an EID or an Add eSIM option. You do not need to send us the number.
  2. Confirm the device is carrier-unlocked. On iPhone, go to Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock and look for “No SIM restrictions.” On Android, confirm unlock status with your original carrier; menu names vary.
  3. Check the exact model number and sales region, not only the family name. On iPad, the device must be a cellular model with eSIM support.
  4. Use NUMERA’s compatibility check before eSIM checkout. A detected eSIM capability does not establish support for every plan or network.

No compatibility result yet.

Regional variants and other devices

Many iPhones sold in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao use physical SIMs and may not support eSIM. Exceptions exist: confirm the exact model and EID instead of assuming every device from a region is unsupported. US iPhone 14 and newer models generally use eSIM without a physical SIM tray. Some US-market Samsung variants may also lack eSIM even when the same model name is listed.

Windows laptops need an installed cellular modem with consumer eSIM support; an LTE/5G-ready product-family name alone is not enough. Wi-Fi-only tablets and ordinary MacBooks do not provide a built-in phone-style cellular eSIM. Watches normally need a carrier-specific wearable plan and are not supported by these data or number plans.

Data plans and number plans are different

Data plans: use a verified eSIM-capable, unlocked phone, cellular tablet, or laptop with the required cellular hardware. Standard data plans do not include a phone number, cellular voice calls, or SMS. Internet calling and messaging apps can use the data connection.

Number plans: phones only. Tablets, laptops, watches, and routers are not eligible. Calling, SMS, permitted destinations, and coverage depend on the selected plan; not every number plan includes SMS. Additional handset requirements for voice are still being confirmed, so an eSIM hardware match alone is not proof that calls will work.

Watches: not supported by these plans, even if their hardware appears in the search list. Routers and mobile hotspots are not officially supported.

Sharing data: only promise hotspot use when the selected plan explicitly supports it. Do not assume number plans allow tethering. Network and fair-use limits may also apply.

Installation options

You need Wi-Fi or another internet connection during installation. Use the QR code or manual details supplied with your purchase. Manual entry uses the SM-DP+ address and activation code from those details. Keep activation codes private.

When NUMERA supplies a one-tap link, iPhone needs iOS 17.4 or later for that shortcut. Android version and Google-services requirements depend on the selected plan; some shortcuts require Android 12 or later. Follow your order’s instructions. These are shortcut requirements, not universal minimum versions for eSIM itself. QR and manual entry remain the fallbacks.

For a number plan, enable the installed line and select it for calls. The phone number appears in the device’s mobile-plan settings. Data may start before calling; voice activation can take up to an hour. Contact support if the advertised service remains unavailable.

Before deleting, reinstalling or changing phones

Standard data plans: one profile is tied to one device and cannot be moved to another. A deleted profile may be reinstalled on the same device while the plan is valid, within that plan’s reinstall allowance. Limits differ between plans; confirm your order’s allowance with support. Scanning the QR again while the profile is still installed can fail—do not delete it as a troubleshooting shortcut.

Number plans: treat the profile as one installation only. Never delete it unless support has confirmed the consequences. A free transfer or replacement after deletion or changing phones is not available; same-phone restoration after deletion is not yet confirmed.

Changing devices may require buying a replacement plan. Ask support about availability and price before proceeding. Termination is irreversible and may forfeit remaining balance; verify the replacement before authorizing termination.

Refunds: standard data-plan eligibility can end once the profile has been downloaded. Number plans generally cannot be cancelled or refunded once ordered. Read the selected plan’s terms before paying. Failed delivery, unauthorized charges, and mandatory consumer rights are assessed under NUMERA’s Refund Policy.
